ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½appÆÆ½â°æ has run a number of successful events in recent years across both mining finance and mining operations, with events held in the UK, US and Australia. The flagship event is the Future of Mining Conference, held annually in Australia.

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½appÆÆ½â°æ THE FUNCTION

The Events division at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½appÆÆ½â°æ is a core business unit responsible for designing and delivering a portfolio of conferences across the mining industry. The function plays a pivotal role in convening senior executives, policymakers, investors, and innovators to address key industry challenges, explore opportunities, and build commercial connections. By leveraging ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½appÆÆ½â°æ's editorial expertise, market intelligence, and event management capabilities, the Events team ensures the delivery of high-calibre experiences that reinforce the company's reputation as a trusted facilitator of knowledge exchange and stakeholder engagement worldwide.

YOUR ROLE

The Sponsorship Sales Executive plays a critical role within ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½appÆÆ½â°æ's Events division, driving commercial success through the acquisition and management of sponsorship partnerships across our events. This position is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, cultivating long-term relationships with key industry stakeholders, and tailoring sponsorship solutions that align client objectives with event value propositions. Working closely with the events production and marketing teams, the Sponsorship Sales Executive is tasked with consistently meeting revenue targets and contributing to the growth and reputation of ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½appÆÆ½â°æ's events business.

Your primary focus will be to generate revenue for the annual Future of Mining Conference, next held in Perth in June 2026 however there will be opportunities and an expectation to also cross sell media services to your client base. You will report to the Global Sales Director and be based in our Perth office.

Your key duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Consistently achieve and exceed individual sales targets and contribute to the wider revenue objectives of the Events division
  • Proactively identifying new opportunities to engage potential sponsors
  • Identifying new markets for expansion of our events
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with sponsors, ensuring repeat business and high levels of client satisfaction
  • Collaborate with event production, marketing, and operations teams to ensure sponsors are effectively integrated into event programs
  • Spearheading the drive to generate new revenue streams from tactical event formats such as roundtables and symposiums
  • Track market trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategies and identify growth opportunities
  • Establishing yourself as the commercial events expert across the business

You will report to the Global Sales Director and be based in Perth.

ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL HAVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Experience of selling both conference and exhibition sponsorship
  • Ability to be a self-driver with a tenacious approach to identify new revenue streams
  • Confident communicator with the ability to present via conference calls and face to face
  • A hard work ethic and focus on direct client conversations
  • Ability to conduct effective openings and deal with objections
  • Experience using social media channels such as LinkedIn in a creative way to connect with new prospects
  • A comprehensive understanding of creative selling around events
  • Experienced in proposal writing
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and build reliable pipelines
  • Effective time management and organisational skills, as well as diligence and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Effective communicator, with the ability to influence and manage stakeholders
  • Works effectively both independently, but also within a team
  • Has ambition, energy, enthusiasm, and the desire to learn and continue to develop

WORKING AT ASPERMONT

We offer a flexible working approach, offering the opportunity to work both from home, but also our Perth office. Whilst working from home, you will benefit from managing your day how you choose around your work priorities and meetings. On your days at the office, you will benefit from being based in our WeWork office in central Perth CBD. At the office, you'll enjoy the normal WeWork perks (free coffee and biscuits, weekly events and classes, pool and foosball tables, and inspiring working spaces). Our full-time working hours are 37.5 hours per week.
